Gift of 1

The Global Restitution Project has been a long time coming.  Over the past 20 years, Gertrude Sgwentu and I have collaborated to connect Americans and South Africans in order to share resources and promote relationships.  This is the first time we have formalized that relationship so that donations could be tax deductible in both countries.  Our US based Non-Profit is called   The Global Restitution Project .  Gertrude’s South African non-profit is Gift of 1.

We work directly with Gertrude’s organization, Gift of 1.  Gift of 1 works in South Africa with individuals and families to change the impact of generational poverty by organizing resources to help them enact their individual visions for their lives.  They help keep people accountable to their goals, without judgement.  They walk in relationship with them.  They seek to eliminate the limitations and boundaries of poverty that often seem impassable.

The Global Restitution Project exists to restore resources to populations, individuals, and projects who are historically and currently exploited by systems of inequality and colonialism.  We are facilitating resource distribution to people who are in a position to redistribute them locally. The GRP seeks to co-create a global network of resource sharing and support.
